Flag Football

The Providence Recreation Flag Football program is designed to give youth an opportunity to strengthen both physical and social skills in a noncompetitive atmosphere.  Teamwork and sportsmanship are encouraged and expected from players, parents, and coaches.  Any misconduct should be reported to the Recreation Department and will be addressed accordingly.

The game of Flag football is a version of American Football where the basic rules of the game are similar to those of the mainstream game but instead of tackling players to the ground, the defensive team must remove a flag or flag belt from the ball carrier (“deflagging”) to end a down. Game duration will be an hour.
